KING TUFF, THE INTELLIGENCE
THE GARRISON, TORONTO / OCTOBER 12TH
With the help of a string-ripping backing band (stacked with sweet moustaches) and Seattle post-punk rockers THE INTELLIGENCE, Kyle Thomas’ project KING TUFF made its premiere in Toronto with an ear-shattering bang. The group slid through a spatter of alternative indie and resurrected some serious bursts of fuzz pop inside The Garrison without losing an ounce of grit. For a coming-out party, Tuff’s side of Sub Pop Records was mesmerizing to say the least as the introduction to the fundamentals of sonic expression kicked out an enormous amount of hooks.
