METZ (SUB POP RELEASE SHOW)
THE HORSESHOE TAVERN, TORONTO / OCTOBER 12TH
Believe it or not, METZ’s album release show that went down at The Horseshoe Tavern this past Friday night had been heavily anticipated for months and not just by Torontonians. As devotees made the trek from areas such as Gatineau and Thunder Bay, the atmosphere inside of the Queen Street venue was rabid to say the least and the chaotic slam of noise-punk that followed acted as its equal, breaking out smiles while the local trio laid out a groove-punishing set. Every song did provide a glimpse of what The Shoe used to be like in its grungier state, but realistically, everyone just wanted the band to rip out another chord that effortlessly went DIY on everyone’s head.
