Remember DEFTONES? Of course you do. The Sacramento five-piece paid a visit to the Kool Haus in Toronto over the weekend and left a sold-out crowd dumbfounded by a furious set. It’s hard to imitate a style from years past, especially when you’ve been a band since the late 80s’, but the group meshed the intricacy of seven albums, letting hits go ballistic while slower numbers burned themselves into listeners. Songs like “Poltergeist”, “Rivière” and “Change (In The House Of Flies)” were just a few of the surprises on the night’s set list which vocalist Chino Moreno orchestrated with a gripping display of what it means to be a frontman and a reformer in this particular decade.
