Going Live: Enter Shikari

Alternating between older material and the pandemonium behind A Flash Flood Of Colour, ENTER SHIKARI gave Toronto a pretty good reason to love the Brits even more. The foursome had obvious intentions to leak out a form of adrenaline that they call “stage presence”, but every onlooker at The Annex Wreckroom gave up crowd banter to form a pit that engulfed the entire venue, sending feet, “horns” and bodies in the air. The atmosphere pierced with the sort of magnetism you’d expect at a basement show headlined by the fourth biggest band in the world yet the group achieved it through “Gandhi Mate, Gandhi”, and adding an entirely new tint to what’s dubbed post-hardcore.
