Going Live: Kings Of Leon, Gary Clark Jr.

Kings Of Leon-1To be completely honest, you can’t go wrong with a KINGS OF LEON set. The Nashville bed rockers steered their current North American tour to London, Ontario’s Budweiser Gardens and blanketed nearly 7,000 fans with a total of 27 songs. Three tunes filled out a proper encore (“Crawl”, “Black Thumbnail”, “Sex On Fire”) but KOL’s ability to shift gears while cruising through six LPs was equally crippling and exceptional. Austin’s GARY CLARK JR. backed up his label as a “blues virtuoso”, driving through a stash of electric riffs that elicit fuzz, and shortly after, the Followills zipped by with “Rock City” and “On Call” acting as a prelude to special gems (“Back Down South”, “Wait For Me”) and oh so sweet rockers (“Don’t Matter”, “Molly’s Chambers”). The night was extensive but hey, the haul was humbling.

Kings Of Leon’s Mechanical Bull is out on iTunes while Gary Clark Jr’s Blak And Blu is available via Warner Bros.
