The thing about Toronto’s HSY and Boston’s GUERILLA TOSS is they’re two grossly underrated bands. One isn’t afraid to sludge it up with a grimy yet synchronized blast of alternative and the other is a five-piece that are dance punk’s worst enemy because of their fracturing grooves and Kassie Carlson’s Hanna-meets-Kiedis vocals. Both acts splattered heads at Toronto’s Adelaide Hall (June 19th) – pushing sets that were louder than FUCK BUTTONS’ – and though we couldn’t stay, it wasn’t difficult to see two bands on the verge of “breaking out”. Sure, people depise that term, but it applies to those that are capable of chucking your brain onto the floor. Dig up our photos below.
