Photos: Slipknot, Lamb Of God at Molson Amphitheatre

Despite the lack of marquee tours, metal isn’t going anywhere. If anything, it’s just becoming a rare treat to see legends such as SLIPKNOT and LAMB OF GOD share the same stage, which is why we had to make a cameo at their recent stop at Toronto’s Molson Amphitheatre (August 8th). While the Saturday night stand was full of beards, patch jackets, devil horns, and a solid helping of BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, the whole thing really belonged to the headliners. Lamb Of God thrashed through a meaty 10-song setlist that underlined Ashes Of The Wake and some new material (“512”, “Still Echoes”) only to lead into Corey Taylor and Slipknot’s closer, which spat out a Van Halen intro and powered through their 1999 self-titled and .5: The Gray Chapter. The gig barely encountered any pitfalls and Jeff Filman was there to grab some visual proof. Check out his photo gallery above.

I love how they didn’t mention MiW hahah. Honestly, the two openers were useless time fillers. Maybe BFMV was okay. They played all right, but they still didn’t belong on the tour. It should have just been LoG and the Knot. I saw the two Virginia shows and they rocked! Except for the two openers lol.

All the bands were great. Motionless in White is a great band and deserves more recognition.
