Who: Strike Anywhere
Where: Mavericks, Ottawa
When: June 15 2010
Punk is still breathing as Virginia’s Strike Anywhere recently tore up the city of Ottawa at Mavericks while on tour with hardcore superheroes Bane and newbies Touche Amore. Frontman Thomas Barnett spearheaded the show by igniting the crowd with the group’s anti-fascist anthems and even pleaded with a security guard to stop exercising his authority on a misled youth during the gig’s closing number. Did it work? The guard did stop and proceeded to take off his staff shirt so he could enjoy the rest of the track as a fan.
