WHO: Marina and the Diamonds
WHERE: The Opera House, Toronto
WHEN: September 8 2010
Clad in pants that would make a daring 90s’ wrestler jealous, Marina Diamandis showed a boisterous 19+ crowd what being a musician is all about. Pairing a profound set of vocal pipes with a natural love for performing, the face of Marina and the Diamonds sifted through a minute catalogue, leaving the audience practically begging for more. But the highlight of the night at The Opera House was Diamandis’ stripped rendition of “Starstrukk” (a 3OH!3 single) that combined passion with sincerity, proving pop music is about pure talent, not controversial get-ups.
