PALMA VIOLETS, ALWAYS, DECADES
THE HORSESHOE TAVERN, TORONTO / JANUARY 24TH

Toronto’s saw some pretty bipolar weather last week and like most Great White Northerners would agree, a few solid hours of rock and roll is enough to kick any bitter day in the throat. PALMA VIOLETS dusted off a few serene garage rock tunes straight out of London but along with backing up our decision to name them a must-watch artist this year, they gave locals a bill that wasn’t afraid to pull off an assault of indie pop. DECADES and Molly Rankin’s ALWAYS let their generic names disintegrate into atmospheric guitar music and before you knew it, the night’s headliners were already tumbling into noise punk singles and revealing how electric their live reputation really is.
