As most of us already know, Saturday is the “official” start day for festivals (and vacation benders). It’s the first full day that doesn’t involve rush hour traffic or choking out a coworker and in turn, it brings out some pretty massive crowds. For GOVERNORS BALL, “massive” is an understatement. This year’s edition spawned some of the biggest audiences the New York festival has ever seen and Saturday (June 6th) responded, swapping out My Morning Jacket and St. Vincent for a mix of BJÖRK, FLUME, CONOR OBERST, SHARON VAN ETTEN, FUTURE ISLANDS, LITTLE DRAGON, and more. The bill was a Jagjaguwar addict’s wet dream and rest assured, RUSTIE’s “Attak” still bumps. Check out Dylan Johnson’s gallery above.
