Displacing hype with talent, French-Cuban twin sister duo IBEYI kicked things off for Toronto’s North By Northeast on Wednesday (June 17th) and reinforced the festival’s gift for recommending new music. Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Diaz have their history, but their take on electronic R&B offers a much different connection in a live setting – something seamless and incredibly intimate.
