Even though they’re fairly new in the prog/metal/hardcore community, Australia’s NORTHLANE are fully capable of carrying out a live show that will kick your head in from start to finish. The fivesome – including new(ish) frontman Marcus Bridge – revisited The Mod Club on Thursday (August 27th) and went for broke, switching between Node and 2013’s Singularity while barely missing a beat (or transition). “Obelisk”, “Impulse”, and “Dispossession” were just some of the direct highlights as their entire showing in Toronto sided with their “tenacity as people and stubbornness as a band”. It also, well… kicked ass, and photographer Riley Taylor was on-hand to capture a bit of their headlining set so scroll through his live stills above.
Northlane’s new effort Node is out now via New Damage/Rise Records; keep tabs on their upcoming dates with Volumes and August Burns Red
