For what it’s worth, THE MEADOWS MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL is destined to become a post-summer classic. The New York offshoot seemed doomed for a brief second — thanks to Mother Nature, SNL conflicts, and Founders’ ongoing narrative with Panorama — but it ultimately prevailed as it decked out Queens’ Citi Field stadium with a mix of local eats, A+ sound design, and a compact lineup that was more NBA 2K than “Coachelly NYC”. The Meadows had its headliners (KANYE WEST, J. COLE) and it rarely hit pause as it managed to tap into its own ultralight beam with sets from CHANCE THE RAPPER, PUSHA T, METRIC, SAVAGES, CHAIRLIFT, YEASAYER, and fine print notables such as SYLVAN ESSO and WORLD’S FAIR. The whole thing turned out to be just another reason to visit the NYC area in the fall, so if you missed it, check out our photo recap below (via Maggie Elizabeth).
