Going Live: Ra Ra Riot

Next to the crème de popular of Toronto, we saw RA RA RIOT make a fine return to Lee’s Palace, soothing amps, slapping wicked bass grooves and attacking the definition of chemistry. While even bringing out PACIFIC AIR to experience Canada for the first time, the New Yorkers illuminated their Barsuk Records disc, Beta Love, by getting everyone to feel the need to start their own dance pit. A nod has to go out to frontman Wes Miles though; his voice was sharp and decadent, and didn’t let up from teasing anyone as the group’s stage lights jumped at his command.
